Precision Flying... Two, Star-Like

At about 7.30pm, on 25th Nov 2009, I was
walking out to the bin at my home at Shipley View, Ilkeston,
Derbyshire. Looking up at the sky, I saw what can only can be
described as two lights in the sky.
One was brighter than the other, and they followed each other -
keeping equal distance apart - as they flew past our house; the
brighter one being in front, and the smaller being behind.
They arced in the sky, not following a straight line like a
satellite would; and this definitely wasn't a plane as there
were no flashing lights.
I did notice that the pair of lights just kept equal distance
apart throughout, never getting further or nearer to each other
(precision flying).
They were travelling from the north, and arced over our house to
then travel east. There was no noise from them(?).
If I was to describe them, then I would say they looked like
stars; the front one being more brighter like that of Venus in
the night sky.
