Volcano... And The Craft Above The Trees On The Hilltop

Driving back to Yeovil from Plymouth, I turned onto the A358
road to Yeovil at Taunton. I was chatting to friends in the car,
and as I looked towards the hills at Hatch Beauchamp, I noticed
a very thin white disc hovering above the trees atop the hill.
At first I thought it was a bird, but at that distance a bird
would not have even been visible. I soon noticed it was
pivoting from side to side, and started to slowly rise.
As I drove closer to that direction, I could get more of an
understanding of the size of it. It appeared to be the size
of a large car, but was very thin, and had a smaller raised area
on both the upper and undersides of the craft.
My view was soon obscured by trees, but as the trees cleared
again, the craft rose incredibly quickly upwards, and
appeared to vanish in a northerly direction.
All of my friends saw this too, and were totally thrown by
what we had just seen. I have seen lights before in the sky
at night, but never ever have I seen a flying disc, especially
during the day time.
When I arrived home in Yeovil, I turned on the television to Sky
News, who were reporting about the volcanic eruption in Iceland,
and that ALL air space above the UK had been closed for quite
some time, ruling out the possibility of a commercial aircraft,
or military aircraft.
