I think some people will tell you the object IS Saturn. But I am not so sure. Neither are a lot of people. Below, you can see two moon-like objects apparently in the tail of Hale-Bopp. Or are they two planets caught in the distance, or distant stars? I think two moons have recently, rather mysteriously, been discovered orbiting Mercury.

There was a lot of controversy as Hale-Bopp approached the Earth. Several astronomers started to report highly unusual things, then suddenly they went quiet, as if told or ordered to keep quiet.
